If you’re like me, you’ve probably visited many food blogs and thought to yourself how delicious the treats looked! Even though there’s no shortage of baked goods in my house, sometimes I just wish I could try those baked by others. Sarah, Margaret and I were chatting on Twitter last night and decided it would be a blast to get a chance to do just that: to share our baked goods with others and have an opportunity to try theirs. We’re calling the idea Secret Baker – sort of a play on Secret Santa.
Here’s everything you need to know if you’d like to jump in (and we hope you will!):
Sarah of Blue Ridge Baker will be hosting the first round. If you would like to get a surprise package in the mail (and send one in exchange, though not necessarily to the same person)
email the following information to traceysculinaryadventures@gmail.com:
– Your name
– Your shipping address
– Your email address
– Any food allergies, dietary restrictions, food aversions, etc…
The last day to join for round 1 is Monday, October 26th.
We will all ship out on Monday, November 2nd. It is important to ship out on this date so we can be sure the goodies will arrive before the weekend. The theme we have chosen for the first round is fall – easy, and so many possibilities!
All of the bakees will be chosen at random, and you will be contacted via email on October 27th with the name, address and dietary details of the person you’ll be baking for.

I think I’m interested, but still trying to decide for sure. I’m worried that my list of things to avoid would be too long. Of course, there are others here who will eat a lot of the stuff I don’t like.
Hmmmmm – I’m intrigued.
i think this is such a great idea!! i would jump in if i knew the ballpark price of how much it costs to send a smallish package to someone else.
Di & Eliana – We’d love to have you but no pressure 🙂 You can always think about it and jump in on a later round if you want!
Jeannette – If you want, I can get back to you after the first round letting you know about shipping costs. I can’t imagine it’ll be too much, but I don’t know for sure.
What an awesome idea! I love getting things in the mail, but I usually have to order myself cookbooks to receive anything fun. I will definitely participate.
This does sound like a very cool idea. I would love to give it a try. Such creative bakers you all are!
Great idea! I just emailed to join…now I’ve got to think about what to make.
I’d love to do this…I think I’m going to wait for the next round though! Great idea.
I would love to do this, but Im in australia…..any chance you have a few aussies on your list?
Hi Joyce! I haven’t hosted a round yet so I haven’t seen the full list of addresses. I will double check and get back to you!
